Sales Is Not About Convincing Anyone

OPENING LINE

Hey [Name]! Thanks for watching — really glad that one landed.

MESSAGE BODY

Here's exactly how I train my team on the shift from convincing to helping people decide:

1. REFRAME THE GOAL

Before any meeting, the question isn't:

"How do I close this?"

It's:

"Do I actually understand their problem well enough to help them decide?"

If you can't answer that, you're not ready.

2. OBJECTIONS ARE DATA, NOT REJECTION

Every objection is a question in disguise.

Train yourself to hear:

"I need to think about it"

As:

"I'm missing information."

Ask:

"What would make this clearer for you?"

Not:

"Let me address your concern."

3. THE DECISION BELONGS TO THEM

Stop owning the outcome.

Your job is clarity.

Their job is the decision.

When you release that attachment, your whole energy changes.

Clients feel it immediately.

4. THE TWO-SENTENCE TEST

After every call, write:

(a) What problem did they share with me?

(b) Did I help them get clearer on whether this solves it?

If you can't answer both, go back and ask better questions next time.

Simple framework. Takes discipline.

But it's the difference between a salesperson people trust and one they avoid.
